School News and Updates

Hello Panther Family! It was a great second full week here at Frankfort High, and we officially have all programs up and running. Students are traveling to Trailblazer Academy and ROTC, KySU dual credit courses are rolling, and our FHS courses are digging into content. Our sports and organizations are now active as well, and class officer elections are happening tomorrow! This is one of the most exciting times of the year here at FHS.

We have completed iReady screeners for Grades 9-11 and will continue to use that data this year to help build strong foundational and advanced reading skills for all students.

Ask your student what they have gotten involved in, how they did on the iReady, and how they are planning to have a great year at FHS!

Academic Corner:

Hello Parents and Students,

iReady Testing is wrapping up with Freshmen and Sophomores, and I will be pulling Juniors to complete their tests Tuesday. We are looking forward to being able to offer informed support for your students, so encourage them to put forth effort and show us what they know. We will be retesting all students who have not reached a benchmark score in the winter. If you are interested in accessing your student's scores, please reach out.

Parents, if you have not already, you will want to become an observer in your student's classes on canvas. This will allow you to have access to your student's grades, assignments, and announcements from their teachers.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Student's Role:
  • Generate a Pairing Code: The student logs into their Canvas account, navigates to "Account" > "Settings", and finds the "Pair with Observer" option. This generates a unique, case-sensitive pairing code.
  • Share the Code: The student provides this code to the parent.
2. Parent's Role:
  • Access Prism Learning:
  • Go to the designated Gradient Learning (Canvas) website or app.
  • Create an Account:
  • If the parent doesn't have an account, they'll need to create one by clicking "Need a Canvas account" and selecting "Parents sign up here".
  • Enter Pairing Code:
  • The parent will fill out their information (name, email, password) and enter the student's pairing code.
  • Start Participating:
  • Once the pairing code is accepted, the parent can log in to their account and view the student's course information.
Here is a link to a video that will wake you through the process:
