FHS The Week of 9/14

Posted Date: 09/11/26 (03:00 PM)

Good morning, Panther Family!

Thank you all again for another non-traditional week of school. ServPro has made significant progress at the school, and our hope in talking to them is that we will be back in person on Monday the 21st. This is still not set in stone, but it is nice to have a projected date before break! This means, as of now, one more week adapting how we do things. Our plan, as of now, for next week is below:

  • MONDAY (9/14) and TUESDAY 9/15) we will be running in-person sessions at First United Methodist Church, 211 Washington St. This will be the same as last week.
    • Seniors and Juniors will attend from 8:05 - 10:35.
      • Bus routes will pick up at normal morning times.
      • Students will be with their CREST mentors to complete necessary assignments.
      • Lunch will be provided.
      • Bus and parent pickup will begin at 10:35.
    • Freshmen and Sophomores will attend from 12:35-3:05.
      • Bus routes will pick up at normal locations beginning at noon.
      • Students will be with their CREST mentors to complete necessary assignments.
      • Lunch will be provided.
      • Bus and parent pickup will begin at 3:05.
  • WEDNESDAY (9/16), THURSDAY (9/17), and FRIDAY (9/18), we will be running non-traditional virtual days. As we (hopefully) gear up for re-entry, teachers will post assignments for classes daily on Prism for students to complete. This will also be a time to ensure students are catching up on any work they have missed over the previous two weeks. Teachers will be available for help via Google Meet or email from 8:05-3:05 these days.
  • PICTURE DAY (9/17): In the midst of these days, we will also have our scheduled Picture Day! Thursday 9/17, come by FD Wilkinson Gym between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm to get your school picture taken. The bus will run normal morning routes if needed to come in for pictures and return home after they are taken. If you can't make it, all good; we have a make-up day scheduled for the end of October.
  • ROTC - Students should follow their grade-level schedule; the bus will leave for Franklin County from First United Methodist MONDAY and TUESDAY and from FD Wiklinson WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY at 10:20.
  • TRAILBLAZER - The bus will continue to leave from the gym at 11:20. If sophomore Trailblazer students need in-person assistance from FHS teachers, they are welcome during the morning Senior/Junior session at First United Methodist MONDAY and TUESDAY.
As we get closer to a return to school, this is all tentative. If we have any changes, we will be sure to communicate them here. Please continue to monitor your Parent Square. Again, I cannot thank you all enough for being a strong, flexible school community. Here's hoping for a less eventful second quarter!
