FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Frankfort, KY
Second Street School is excited to announce the implementation of a new mobile device collection policy starting at the beginning of the upcoming school year. This initiative aims to foster a more focused and engaging educational environment for all students.
Beginning on the first day of school, students will be required to turn in their mobile devices upon arrival. The devices will be securely stored and returned at the end of the school day. This policy applies to all grade levels and is part of our ongoing efforts to minimize distractions and promote face-to-face interaction and academic concentration.
Key Details of the Mobile Device Collection Policy:
Collection: Students will turn in their mobile devices at designated collection points upon arrival at school. Devices will be stored securely by school personnel.
Return: Devices will be returned to students at the end of the school day.
Communication: Important information and updates will be communicated to parents and guardians through traditional channels, such as email, phone calls, and the school’s website.
Benefits of the Policy:
Enhanced Learning: By reducing distractions, students can concentrate better on their studies and participate more actively in classroom discussions.
Improved Social Skills: Encouraging face-to-face interactions will help students develop stronger social skills and build meaningful relationships.
Increased Safety: Collecting devices reduces the risk of cyberbullying and inappropriate use of technology during school hours.
Principal Samantha Sams commented, "We believe this policy will significantly improve the learning environment at Second Street School. Our goal is to provide a space where students can fully engage with their education and peers without the distractions that mobile devices often bring."
