Our Mayo-Underwood honoree for today is James Blackburn Brown. Mr. Brown was a long-time educator at Mayo-Underwood School and was a very decorated basketball coach, winning over 300 games, 2 state titles, and coaching 2 Harlem Globetrotters.

Our Mayo-Underwood honoree for today is 1951 alumnus Luska Twyman. Twyman was a principal in Glasgow, leading desegregation in the Glasgow city schools. He was also the first black mayor in KY to be elected to a full term.
